We respect the rights of the people who work in our own enterprise and in our value chains, contribute to the appropriate use of resources and limit negative impacts on the environment.
Our work takes a starting point in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP, 2011) and the OECD model for Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct (OECD, 2018). The bases for our policy for sustainable business practices are the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Global Declaration on Human Rights, the International Labor Organization's (ILO's) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights At Work and other corresponding guidelines for the environment and climate, along with animal welfare.
Due diligence
We acknowledge that even though the authorities are obliged to safeguard human and employee rights through national legislation, it is expected that we will respect human and employee rights and safeguard the climate, environment and society. We are subject to the Transparency Act and the requirements therein, i.e. that we carry out due diligence and publicly account for this. This means that we have initiatives for carrying out effective due diligence evaluations of human and employee rights, the environment and society in place, to be able to ensure that we avoid contributing to breaches of rights and negative impacts.
We have systems to chart, stop, prevent and reduce risk related to negative impacts on persons, the environment and society and animals. If our activities cause or contribute to a negative impact we will cease this activity and seek to rectify any harm. If a supplier is responsible for the negative impact/harm the supplier is also responsible for eventual remedy. Initiatives are monitored and the effect of these evaluated, and results are communicated to the affected parties.
Responsible procurement
We believe that responsible procurement is an important instrument in the work on ensuring sustainable business development. We tailor our procurement to ensure that we strengthen - not undermine – suppliers’ premises for complying with our requirements, to secure good conditions for persons, society and the environment.
Supplier requirements
We expect that our suppliers and cooperating partners are goal-oriented and work systematically to comply with our guidelines for suppliers, which cover fundamental requirements regarding human rights, employee rights, anti-corruption, animal welfare and the environment.
Our suppliers must:
In the work on ensuring sustainable business development, we will be at the forefront and offer products that consumers can trust that balance economy, the environment and society and contribute to positive change.
